Tips
BEFORE YOU CALL:

  • Disposer Jammed - Most disposers have a hole in the bottom where an allen wrench goes. The allen wrench should be stuck in a pouch on the side of the disposer. If not, you can buy a standard set at a local hardware store. Make sure the power is off to the disposer. Try inserting the wrench and move it left then right, (if the wrench will not move, take a small block of wood and tap lightly). Remove the wrench and try the disposer. If this does not work or you do not have a hole in your disposer, Call a plumber!
  • Disposer Clogged - If you have a wet/dry shop vacuum, take a rag and wrap it around the end of the vacuum hose, leaving about 2” sticking out. Put this end of the hose in the disposer and the plug for the other side of the sink in, (if you have an air-gap, put a glad bag over it with a rubber band) and turn on the vacuum. If this does not work,Call a plumber!
  • Information - When you call the plumber, try to give a brief description of the problem. Include sounds that you hear, how often, and how long the problem has been going on. For example, "I have a toilet that runs and makes a hissing sound, it started last year after the water lines in front of the house were replaced." It’s ok to admit that it’s not a new problem! Also saving things until you have multiple repairs does not save you money. Most plumbers charge by the repair and not the hour any more, including us. This gives us the ability to let you know how much it will cost in advance. So, if it is a problem, Call a Plumber!
  • Service Agreements Do Pay -Most customers don’t realize that Plumbing Service Agreements exist. They are familiar with agreements for the AC/furnace and want someone to check on their equipment each year. We know that most people think they will see the plumbing problem when it happens. With trained personnel coming to your house and inspecting the entire plumbing system yearly, it not only brings peace of mind, but may spot the little things before they become a major problem causing major damage to the rest of the house. A busted washing machine hose, especially if you are gone can cost thousands of dollars, and raise your insurance premiums. The cost of the agreement is minimal and gives you a written evaluation of your plumbing, along with things that may need attention. It also results in a minimum of a 10% discount on repairs. So if you want a Service Agreement, Call us!
